Anzac Day 2016

Anzac Day 2016

Anzac Day may be a public holiday for most of the country, but Southern Highlands Christian School students rose early, dressed in school uniform on their last day of their school holidays, in honour of the memory of those who died in battle for us.   In the horror that was war, men and women devoted themselves to fighting for our freedom. In many cases, these soldiers lost their lives in the process. They were incredibly brave individuals to whom we owe our gratitude and respect.   It may have been generations before their time, but SHCS students joined in the Anzac Parade to show how much they value the safe country we live in because these soldiers put their lives on the line to defend our nation.   It is this selfless act that is reminiscent of another story of a great man who put his life on the line for his people. The 2016 Country Fair

The 2016 Country Fair

Last term, under sunny skies with a touch of the fresh country air, the grounds of Southern Highlands Christian School were transformed into the Annual Country Fair.   Staff, students and members of the community worked tirelessly to bring to Bowral a day filled with fun, teamwork and a sense of the school community. There was live music from the Secondary School musicians, who entertained patrons as they browsed the gift and food stalls. Cute baby animals were available for cuddles and there were also thrilling rides for the little ones. Children’s entertainer, Colin Buchanan, closed the afternoon with a concert for all members of the school and wider community. Singing songs about Jesus, Colin had the incredible gift of entertaining children and adults alike, while sharing a vital message of how much Jesus loves each one of us. A fantastic time was had by all! The Southern Highlands Christian School Country Fair had something for everyone.   As with all great events like this one, there are many people to thank for their contributions. To ALL students, parents and staff who assisted in any way by baking for the Cake Stall, helping cook Apple Pies or Curry prior to the Fair, setting up, volunteering on a Stall or engaging with visitors to our School, THANK YOU for your contribution! An extra thank you to the following students… Heidi Cask, Shayla Carl, Olivia Walters, Jessica Willis, Olivia Thompson, Genevieve Wilson, Maisy Wilhelmi, Adiel Mkolo, Tristan Glenn, Jesse Boyd, Summer Tyree, Matthew Goff-Jones, Jake Steedman, Chloe Johnston, Amanda Leigh, Tim Seckold, Lachlan Souter, Jarrod Schiller and to all our Junior...
