Success at MUNA 2016

Success at MUNA 2016

On Saturday 7 May, local high school debating teams gathered at the Moss Vale Council Chambers for the annual Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA).   Debating teams, consisting of Year 10 and Year 11 students, represented countries of world and practised their public speaking skills while discussing resolutions on various topical world issues.   Over several sessions during the day, teams debated in kind with the views that may be held by the countries for which they were standing. Teams came from some of the top schools in the area (both public and private) and the competition was strong. Overcoming the excellent calibre of talent on the day, for the second year in a row, the team from Southern Highlands Christian School finished in first place!   Congratulations to Georgia, Mabel and Annie for their excellent reasoning, deductive and passionate articulation, as well as a huge thanks to Mrs Brake and Mr Hillaire for their hard work leading up to the Assembly.   We wish the team all the best for the Nationals in Canberra later this year!...
