Diverse learning embraced at SHCS

The traditional classroom is a thing of the past for Year 5 and 6 students. Incorporating a flexible learning environment, the new Junior Learning Complex will help students embrace a more self-paced learning style to enhance individual progress. The building was officially opened on 6 November by Principal (Andrew Middleton), school captains and Senator, the Hon Concetta Ferravanti-Wells. “It [this building] will no doubt benefit those students at the school today but it will help the generation of future students as well”, she stated. Grandparents Day

Grandparents Day

Grandparents and Grand-friends are very special to us and what better way to honour them than by hosting a showcase of the talent of their grandchildren! Primary and Secondary students performed various items to entertain our important guests, followed by an address from sumptuous afternoon tea. We loved sharing part of our school with these valued family members. Also honoured at this event was Mrs Barbara Cox. As well as speaking to our guests, she was officially farewelled from her role as Teacher’s Aide in Junior school and thanked for her dedication to helping our students do their best. May God bless and keep her and her family as they prepare for their next adventure. For more updates on school events, please join our Facebook group Southern Highlands Christian School....

SHCS Barn Dance

SHCS Barn Dance

In May, Southern Highlands Christian School held the inaugural Barn Dance for the school community and proved that age is no barrier to good, old-fashioned, toe tapping enjoyment. Families from the SHCS community gathered to heal-and-toe and dosey doe while local band, Running North (comprising of SHCS and Bowral High students, as well as local musicians) entertained barn dancers with authentic country music. Needless to say, a fantastic night was had by all and we can’t wait for the next one! To keep informed of school events, please join our Facebook page, Southern Highlands Christian School.   ...
