Year 3-10 new subject ‘Strand’

It’s not often you hear of so many school years being involved in the same subject… but that’s just what’s intriguing about Southern Highland Christian School’s new endeavour, the Strand Program. Strand is one lesson a week that Years 3 to 10 do at the same time, giving the students a chance to choose a lesson that inspires and also gives them a chance to work with peers outside their own age group. Some of the delightful subjects on offer for Term 1 are :

Bunny’s Angels (choir)

Speaking no Squeaking (Public Speaking)

Bowral’s Next Top Model (Model Gliders)

Little Guitars for Little Stars (Ukulele Group)

World of Wool Craft (Wool Craft)

Williams’ House of Pain (Boot Camp run by PDHPE teacher Mr Williams)

Chip Off the Old Block (Golf)

Life Through a Lens (Photography and Audio Visual Club)

From A to Z (Art to Zoology – Animal Drawing)

Lil Readers (Volunteer Reading Program)

Robertson Couch Potatoes (Running Club)

So You Think You Can Dance? (Dance)

May the Frosting Be With You (Cupcake Decorating)
